Thursday, April 30, 10 am – 11:30 am: Housing Sex OffendersThis training, led by Dr. Laurie Guidry, will provide a presentation on how society responds to people with sex offense histories and the actual data that can better inform that response to serve public safety. It will offer a summary of current housing policies from across the country, our own MA and Network history of work on the issue, the impact of COVID-19 and a discussion of next steps for our work going forward.

Thursday, May 7, 10 am – 11:30 am – Sealing CORIs and Appealing Housing Authority DenialsThis training will be led by Community Legal Aid Attorneys Nina Harrison and Jane Edmonstone. Part 1 will address CORI records, including what records can be sealed and how to seal them, and Part 2 will talk about what to do if a subsidized housing application is denied, and how to prepare an appeal. Tuesday, May 19, 10 am – 12 noon – Enhancing our Work with LGBTQ+ Individuals in Housing CrisisThis training will provide a framework to support providers, community organizers and agency representatives working with community members who identify as LGBTQ+ during the pandemic and beyond. It will offer a primer on creating inclusive and affirming environments for LGBTQ+ individuals, utilizing national resources and lived experience of community members. The trainer, James Shultis (they/them pronouns), is a community educator and advocate, specializing in LGBTQ+ trainings and education.
