The Massachusetts Access to Justice Commission is sponsoring a virtual Question and Answer session for community advocates, case managers and social service providers about steps you can take to help your clients facing eviction now that the Massachusetts eviction moratorium is over.
Tuesday, October 27, 2020
10:00 am – 11:30 am
Please register at www.masslegalservices.org/post-moratorium-q-and-a for the Zoom link
This is NOT intended for lawyers; the program will give a short overview of key legal issues for you to keep in mind when helping your clients, including:
- What the court process and timelines will be like — both for cases that were frozen when the eviction moratorium went into effect and for new eviction cases
- Information about the federal CDC moratorium
- How to get help if your client has limited English proficiency
- What resources are available — including legal information and representation, and financial help with back rent from resources such as RAFT
Presenters include:
Laura Camara, Justice Center of Southeastern Massachusetts
Iris Coloma-Gaines, Massachusetts Law Reform Institute
Zoe Cronin, Greater Boston Legal Services
Gordon Shaw, Community Legal Aid
You will also have a chance to ask questions, although we encourage you to ask them in advance through the registration form.
Please feel free to forward this invitation!
