The Massachusetts Housing and Shelter Alliance (MHSA) is bringing its next discussion and advocacy opportunity to us on Thursday, October 15, 10 am – 11 am. Showing up will strengthen our voice for statewide solutions. Please join if you can!

From MHSA:

Communities across Massachusetts are reporting increases in unsheltered homelessness, from people sleeping on the street to the growth of encampments in parks and other outdoor locations.

In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, with the significant loss of shelter capacity and winter approaching, the situation could not be more urgent: Massachusetts needs a statewide response to address unsheltered homelessness.

Join the Massachusetts Housing & Shelter Alliance (MHSA) for a virtual panel discussion on the challenges local communities are facing in responding to increased unsheltered homelessness and the need for coordinated statewide solutions.
Panelists:

  • Representative Natalie M. Higgins (D – Leominster)
  • Vernal Coleman, Reporter, Boston Globe
  • Michael Andrick, M. Ed., LCPC, Director of Pine Street Inn Outreach and DMH MATCH Services
  • Jay S. Levy, LICSW, Regional Manager – Western Massachusetts, Eliot CHS Homeless Services

Moderated by Joyce Tavon, Senior Director of Policy & Programs, MHSA
