HAP received a large reallocation of RAFT funds that need to be expended by June 30th the latest. Clients can be assessed Monday through Friday at our Springfield office and Monday/Wednesday/Friday at our Holyoke office, 267 High Street.
Rental Assistance for Families in Transition (RAFT):
To be eligible for RAFT your family must:
- Be homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.
- Be income eligible
- Have faced unforeseen difficulties that resulted in loss of income or increase in expenses.
- Have a dependent under the age of 21.
RAFT funds can pay for moving cost assistance, rent arrears, utility arrears and rental stipends. RAFT also helps families who have to move but do not have enough money to pay a security deposit, utility startup costs, or first/last month’s rent and furniture. (No more than $1000 can be paid for furniture).
