The Governor has signed the state budget that includes a new provision in Line Item 7004-0102 which governs funding for shelters and programs serving adult individuals that states: no shelter shall receive less than $20 per bed per night, up from a minimum of $12.97. the state average is $29.24. In Western Mass, this means an increase for Friends of the Homeless in Springfield. No other Western Mass shelter is affected.
