A message from Homes for Families:
As you may know, earlier this year, the Senate passed a bill that would require the state to develop 1,000 units of affordable housing in the coming three years and help to streamline the funding process for developers. The Bill (S.1967) is currently before the House Committee on Ways and Means, and we need your help to gain the necessary legislative support for it to pass in the House. Please contact your state representative today and ask that s/he contact the Speaker and Chairman Dempsey to indicate they support the passage of S.1967, an Act Relative to Community Housing and Services. If you are uncertain how to contact your representative, click here. Our friends at CHAPA have also shared a sample letter you could use as a template and send to your representative. And to view the co-sponsors of the bill and relevant committee members, click here.Once again, we thank you for your ongoing support in our advocacy efforts!!
