Carmelina Romano, the Network’s guest speaker at our April 26th gathering, was featured in the Daily Hampshire Gazette on June 29. The story describes her extraordinary journey:
None of what Carmelina Romano has accomplished since her escape with two children from a stifling, often turbulent marriage and homelessness has been easy. But education, she insists, should be hard. Romano earned a degree in business administration from UMass last month with a GPA of 3.48 and is in the middle of an 18-credit hurricane of a master’s program at the Isenberg School of Management that ends in December, hopefully, with her acing of the CPA exam.
