The Western Mass Network to End Homelessness has hired a Director of Regional Coordination: Pam Schwartz will start work the week of July 20.
Pam’s involvement with homelessness began in the 1980’s, when she volunteered for the New York City Coalition for the Homeless, an experience that led her to law school at NYU. Following law school, Pam worked at the Legal Assistance Corporation of Central Massachusetts, representing low-income clients in housing and public benefits cases. After leaving LACCM, Pam worked as a policy advocate, grant manager, and research director. She recently left the position of Communication Director at the National Priorities Project, and joins us after succesfully leading an override campaign in Northampton and serving as the western regional field director for the ‘No on 1’ campaign.
Welcome Pam! We’re thrilled to have you on board.
There are a few other staff changes of note: Gerry McCafferty will be filling in as the Acting Director of Housing for the City of Springfield following the move of current director Carl Dietz to the position of Director of Community Development for the City of Chicopee. MaryEllen Hombs is leaving the US Interagency Council on Homelessness, and Kevin Noonan is leaving Open Pantry Community Services (see news story).
