Today’s Republican reports that Open Pantry Community Services has affiliated with South Middlesex Opportunity Council (SMOC) based in Framingham. According to the article, Open Pantry will continue to retain its name, identity, mission and programs in the new affiliation. Kevin Noonan will remain as Open Pantry’s Executive Director.
The affiliation is a response to funding cuts and bidget shortfalls in the past year. SMOC has programs throughout the state including long-term links to Western Massachusetts.
