Tom Salter provided some information in a comment which is so important that I thought it should be in a post. His report:
The number of families in motels statewide as of 9/1/09 is 985, with 255 families in Hampton county. The increase is running at about 22 new families per month needing shelter.
Our ICHH grantees are just getting to contract and will be providing assistance soon, and HPRP funds will be in place by the end of September.
