Earlier today, the Network hosted its “Different Kind of Resource Fair” – made different by its virtual experience, combined with this moment in history. We were pleased to host 165 people on Zoom, including the DHCD Undersecretary, 16 legislators, 4 mayors and 150 Network partners.
We affirmed our commitment to combat the structural racism that underlies so much of homelessness. This Network Presentation shines a light on our own region’s racial inequity in homelessness, while also offering a path forward for centering equity and racial justice in all that we do.
We heard the powerful words of Leslie Garcia, a Springfield Youth Action Board member, and her call to action to end youth homelessness.
We heard from over a dozen of our Western MA legislators, affirming their commitment to push for policies that advance equity and eliminate structural racism.
We cut through the computer screen and phone lines to feel the power of our shared sense of mission and determination to end racism in our community and our country.
On behalf of the entire Network, thank you for your solidarity and commitment. Let’s go make change together.
