Exciting news about one of Western Massachusetts’ own!
The announcement from DHCD Undersecretary Aaron Gornstein:
Dear Shelter Directors, Housing Providers, and Advocates:
I am pleased to announce that Rose Evans has been hired as the new Associate Director for the Division of Housing Stabilization at DHCD. Rose joins the Patrick-Murray Administration after nearly three decades at the Center for Human Development in Springfield, where since 1992 she was the Program Director of an array of multi-services programs serving children, adolescents, and families. She has extensive experience in management and supervision and a deep knowledge of the housing and homelessness field, ranging from emergency shelters to permanent supportive housing.
Rose holds a Masters of Education degree from Cambridge College in Springfield and is licensed by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education as a Special Education Administrator, Principal and Superintendent. She maintains a passion and commitment to children, families, staff, and stakeholders and is guided by the Department’s mission to prevent homelessness, to provide emergency shelter as an important safety net, and to expand permanent housing options for low income households. Rose will start at DHCD on Monday, March 4th.
I want to thank Ita Mullarkey for doing a superb job as Acting Associate Director for the past four months; Darrell LeMar for his leadership and hard work; and all of the Division of Housing Stabilization staff for moving our agenda forward since the time Bob Pulster departed. It is because of their dedication and commitment that so many homeless families and individuals now have a permanent place to call home.
Aaron Gornstein
Undersecretary for Housing and Community Development
