Homes for Families and Center for Social Policy at UMass Boston invite you…
What started out as a temporary solution to the emerging phenomonon of family homelessness in 1983 has turned into a necessary fixture of the Commonwealth.
Please join the Center of Social Policy at UMass Boston and Homes for Families as we recognize the 30th anniversary of the Massachusetts state shelter system and review the scope of the current crisis to collaborate for permanent solutions to family homelessness.
Monday, October 28
8:30 am – 1:00 pm
UMass Boston campus, Ballroom
With a shelter system at capacity and rapidly increasing motel numbers, it is time to review and double the efforts that have been made in addressing, preventing and eradicating family homelessness. Now more than ever, we need to reach across sectors and communities to develop and implement sustainable and lasting solutions to ensure that all families across the Commonwealth have a safe, stable place to call home.
