Today’s the Day of Action across the state, led by Homes for All Massachusetts and hundreds of others. Please take a minute to use this tool to email the Housing Committee Chairs to urge action on the COVID-19 Housing Equity bill to stop COVID-19 evictions and foreclosures. Please copy your email to your own state legislators, too (you can find their email addresses here). Many of our Western MA legislators support this bill, but they need to know we’re pushing for it.

Day of action to stop COVID-19 evictions and foreclosures!
️ Take action NOW by calling and emailing the co-chairs of the Housing Committee and posting on twitter as part of the tweetstorm.
There have been over 25,000 evictions filed in MA during the pandemic. Our communities are bracing for even more evictions and an onslaught of foreclosures. The COVID-19 Housing Equity bill would stop this needless displacement, but the Housing Committee has failed to move it forward. The State Legislature is about to close “formal session” until the new year without protecting tenants and homeowners.
This sounds like “vacations for them, evictions for us.” Take action today to tell the Housing Committee this is unacceptable and we demand action! Tenants and homeowners are still in crisis and need protection NOW.
Action steps:
1. Call and email the co-chairs of the Housing Committee, Rep Arciero and Senator Keenan. Use this tool – sample message and contact info provided.
2. Mobilize your members/co-workers/constituents/allies/friends to make the calls and send the emails.
3. Tweet and post on social media (especially at/after 10:30 am Tuesday, Nov 16 at part of the tweetstorm). This toolkit from City Life/Vida Urbana has everything you need including sample tweets to use.
