Yesterday, the MA Joint Judiciary Committee heard testimony on the HOMES Act. The Network submitted written testimony that you can read here.
It’s not too late to submit testimony (for the next couple of weeks), in fact it is very important to get on the record. If you are working with tenants who have personal stories, it is important to get them on the record! Written testimony may be submitted to the Judiciary Committee at 24 Beacon Street, Room 136, Boston, MA 02133 or by e-mail to jacqueline.o.manning@mahouse.gov.
Here is a fact sheet that you can use. As one tenant Sandy Novack testified yesterday: “Take the scarlet “E” off of me and so many others like me; please vote to seal eviction records.”
