From the National Low Income Housing Coalition (NLICH) – let’s do this!
Join a National Call-In Day on May 4 to Demand Funding for Homelessness and Affordable Housing in the Next Coronavirus Relief Package
NLIHC and other national leaders of the Campaign for Housing and Community Development Funding are hosting a national call-in day TODAY, May 4, to urge Congress to include funding to meet the urgent needs of people experiencing homelessness and America’s lowest-income renters in the next coronavirus relief package. Find your legislators here and from there click on their website for their contact info.
We are asking our senators and representative for vital resources and protections, including:
- $100 billion in emergency rental assistance
- uniform national moratorium on evictions and foreclosures
- $11.5 billion to address the needs of people experiencing homelessness
(you can learn more by going to NLHIC’s recommendations for the next relief package here)
Your script: “Hi, my name is ___, I’m calling from [city/town] and I’m urging you to support our lowest-income renters by including in the next coronavirus relief package (and then copy and paste the list above).” That’s it!
Let’s take 10 minutes and add our voices to those across the nation – to the benefit of our own communities. Email or call, either one works! Start by finding your legislators here. Thanks for the solidarity!
