The Homes for All MA Coalition has announced a new bill to Guarantee Housing Stability during the COVID-19 Emergency and Recovery that will be filed early next week. This legislation will provide housing stability for thousands of tenants, assist homeowners and stabilize landlords.
Up to 20,000 eviction cases are expected immediately after the current moratorium ends (possibly as soon as August 18), according to landlord advocates and estimates from the state’s Housing Court system. This legislation, crafted by the Homes for All MA Coalition with legislators, advocates, and community groups statewide, meets the extraordinary challenge of this moment.
Organizations and elected officials are being asked to sign on here.
If you want to sign on as an individual go to http://www.housingguarantee.org/ to sign the petition.
Your support makes a difference. Let’s join together to make our united Western MA voice heard to protect thousands of tenants from homelessness during COVID-19, to ensure homeowners can stay in their homes and landlords can stay in business.
Looking forward to making this happen together!
