We posted on this a few weeks ago but with the comment deadline closing in on Sept. 2, we wanted to remind you of this urgent need to comment. See this advocacy alert from the National Alliance to End Homelessness (echoed across all housing organizations across the country):
The administration is attempting to remove current Equal Access Rule protections that allow transgender and gender non-conforming individuals to safely seek shelter at HUD-funded sites, without being discriminated against for their LGBTQ identity.
The best way to ensure these protections remain in place is to submit a public comment by September 22nd, telling HUD that Equal Access Protections must stay.
