Dear friends,
On Monday DHCD staff working in local DTA offices began using a Pre Assessment Tool as part of their determination process of EA eligibility. I am attaching a copy of the form for your information. This is the tool that we will continue to refine and update as needed which will include input from our network partners.
I am also pleased to report that we have ICHH-assigned staff working in collaboration with DHCD at four of our local offices: Worcester, Brockton, Revere, and Malden. These providers including Central Mass Housing Alliance, Brockton Area Multi-Service Service (BAMSI) and CAPIC are working as part of their respective ICHH Networks at the front screen door to assist our DHCD Homeless Coordinators to provide a range of appropriate responses to assist families.
As we move ahead we will want to begin sharing the best practice models for diversion and stabilization among network network providers. This is an area where my new role at DHCD coincides with the ICHH so I will work with Laila Bernstein of the ICHH as we continue to advance this important step in our systems reform.
