The Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development has released it request for responses (RFR) for the Emergency Shelter Grant (ESG) Program. The state ESG program provides up to $2,510,228 annually to meet the following needs:
- Shelter Operation Costs, such as rent, fuel and food to increase emergency and transitional shelter capacity;
- Homeless Prevention and Diversion Services to prevent episodes of homelessness and divert people from shelter; and
- Essential Services to help individuals and families transition to permanent housing.
The RFR is available on Comm pass. Note: this RFR is not for the state Homeless Prevention and Rapid Rehouse Program (HPRP) funds. The state HPRP RFR does not appear to have been released yet.
