Great news for affordable housing development in Western MA:
On March 11, 2016, Lt. Governor Karyn Polito announced an award of affordable housing resources from MA Department of Housing and Community Development for HAPHousing’s Live 155 development in downtown Northampton. Live 155 will consist of 70 studio and one-bedroom apartments and 2,800 square feet of retail space on Pleasant Street. HAPHousing and third-party providers will offer a range of supportive services to Live 155 residents. The cost for construction of the building is estimated at $14 million. HAPHousing plans to close on all financing in August and commence building demolition and construction in September. Construction is expected to be complete in late 2017.
