Message from Bob Pulster–
Good afternoon,
I want to provide some additional information on the DHCD Regional Meetings that are planned for this week and next relative to the transfer of emergency shelter programs. The first one was held this morning in Boston.
The purpose of the meetings is for DHCD to provide key stakeholders with information regarding strategy and priorities so we can begin to achieve an impact on July 1. Consequently, DHCD decided to plan these meetings in the five DTA office regions that account for 80% of the incoming shelter clients — including Boston, Brockton, Worcester, North Shore (Salem), and Springfield/Holyoke.
As you know, these DTA offices are embedded within ICHH regions so we have included our Regional Network partners in these meetings. For your information, Brockton is scheduled for this Thursday the 19th and the North Shore is scheduled for Friday the 20th at 1:30pm. Meetings are being held at One Ashburton Place, Boston in the Cafe Conference Room. The Worcester and Springfield/Holyoke meetings are being scheduled for Friday the 19th at a location in Worcester. As soon as we have this confirmed details you will receive notice.
The ICHH regions where there is a less pronounced connection to the prioritized DTA offices are Merrimack Valley, Cape, and MetroBoston — although these are also important in our overall strategy. In any case, if you would like to attend one of these meetings I would encourage you to do so. Please RSVP to Patrick at 617 573 1175 or tsecr1@ocd.state.ma.us.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
