Regional Partners:
Thank you for your continued dedication to the homeless systems change effort in Massachusetts. As you well know, the legislature is currently deciding on the Article 87 which would transfer the emergency shelter system from DTA to DHCD. Many of you and your constituents have been vocal advocators of this policy shift — making calls, writing letters and emails, meeting with legislators, etc. — which I and the Lt. Governor greatly appreciate.
On Wednesday, February 25th at 11am in Room B2 there will be a legislative hearing on Article 87. This is an important opportunity to show your support for this important element of our systems change effort. Some of our key supporters will testify and others will be there simply to show support. Please feel free to join us at the hearing, which will begin at 11am and will run until 2pm. We will be reaching out to One Family, MHSA, the Mass CAP Directors and the Mass Nonprofit Housing Assoc. to testiy in favor of the Article 87. LG Murray, Commissioner Kehoe and Undersecretary Brooks will lead off on the testimony in support of Article 87.
Please let us know if you are able to attend or if you have not already done so providing written testimony. We greatly appreciate all your support and hope to see you on February 25th.
Thank you as always,
Robert Pulster, Executive Director ,Interagency Council on Housing and Homelessness
