The Affordable Homes Act (AHA) was recently reported to the House Committee on Ways and Means and debate is predicted to happen in early May. This is the time to weigh in on our priorities, including the Transfer Fee for Affordable Housing. Check out this fantastic toolkit for transfer fee action (with thanks to the LOHA Coalition!).
Special thanks to our western MA communities – Amherst, Deerfield, Easthampton, Great Barrington, Greenfield, Northampton – whose local officials signed on to a statewide letter (43 officials, 29 communities!) urging legislative leadership to pass the transfer fee with critical amendments.
