Thanks to the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless, Massachusetts Law Reform Institute, and Homes for All Massachusetts for this opportunity to join our voices in this organizational sign-on letter to our state leaders to restore critically needed rental assistance.
As you may know, the Department of Housing and Community Development stopped taking applications for ERAP as of April 16th, and is further limiting benefits under RAFT, as described in the letter. We are asking the Legislature to intervene swiftly to restore ERAP/ERAP-level benefits for families and individuals across the Commonwealth in housing crises that will not be able to be resolved with RAFT benefits under the current RAFT restrictions and limitations.
