The training will focus on accessing the Emergency Assistance (EA) family shelter program, HomeBASE, and related housing and homelessness programs. The training will be held via live webcast through MCLE, and also will be recorded and available to watch on October 20th and 28th.
Advocates and community members will have a chance to learn more in depth about the Emergency Assistance shelter program, including how to apply, eligibility criteria, and how to deal with terminations, as well as about related homelessness prevention and rehousing resources. Trainers will discuss changes to these programs related to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The training team will include Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless, Massachusetts Law Reform Institute, Greater Boston Legal Services, and Central West Justice Center. Training participants will have opportunities to ask questions and get answers from the training faculty. Participants also will receive access to online, printable training materials and resources.
