The Rural Domestic and Sexual Violence Economic Security Taskforce is pleased to announce that registration is now open for a three part virtual training series entitled: Solidarity Economy & Pathways to a More Just and Sustainable World: A Three Part Virtual Workshop Series for Domestic and Sexual Violence Providers, Survivors, Allies, and Anti-Violence Activists.

This series will take place March 31st, 9:30-11:30 (Kickoff Event); April 14th, 9:30-11:30, and one additional date tentatively scheduled for April 23, 2021 (TBD) and feature Emily Kawano, founder of the US Solidarity Economy Network and Co-Director of Wellspring Cooperative.

This program is designed to help participants acquire the analytical and practical tools to learn about the ways that domestic and sexual violence are rooted in our economic system of capitalism and how the solidarity economy, as a vision, framework, movement and concrete practices, can offer a path forward.

For example, imagine a Maker’s Cooperative to provide a source of revenue for producing food, crafts, textile products etc. Imagine helping survivors find an affordable home in a Community Land Trust. What about building permanent mutual aid and support infrastructure that is grounded in solidarity, and connection and not charity?

Please Note: This program is free of charge.
Space is limited for Sessions 2-3 and will be most relevant for people living and/or working in western MA but open to all.

Please share this announcement with your colleagues and networks and feel free to contact me with any questions you may have at  Amy.Waldman@mass.gov.

In Peace,
