FY22 Budget Recommendation Cuts Critical Resources for Individuals Experiencing Homelessness

Thanks to the Massachusetts Housing and Shelter Alliance (MHSA) for this action alert. Let’s join our statewide partners and bring Western Massachusetts’ voice to the Governor today!

On Wednesday, the Governor released his Fiscal Year 2022 (FY22) Budget Recommendation.

We are disappointed to see the cuts to housing, shelter and services for individuals experiencing homelessness, including:

  • $1 million cut to the Home & Healthy for Good line item (7004-0104), which provides permanent supportive housing for individuals experiencing long-term homelessness who have complex medical and behavioral health needs
  • $3.07 million cut to the Homeless Individuals Assistance line item (7004-0102), which funds housing, shelter and services for individuals experiencing homelessness

Please call the Governor’s Office (617-725-4005) today and express your disappointment in the Administration’s decision to cut these critical resources, which serve some of our most vulnerable neighbors in Massachusetts.

We need your support. Once you are able to call the Governor’s Office, please let us know by emailing Caitlin Golden at cgolden@mhsa.net.
