The MA “Act Providing Eviction Protections During the COVID-19 Pandemic Emergency,” signed into law on Dec. 31, 2020, requires the MA Trial Court to submit to the Legislature monthly data regarding evictions in MA. Please find the report here.
Of particular note: in the month of December, .9% of tenants had legal representation as compared to 71% of landlords. Additionally, 449 executions for possession were issued statewide, while the federal moratorium is in place (underscoring the need for stronger national protection) . Again, please read more here.
Separate from the report, Western MA eviction filing numbers are also available, with thanks to Rose Webster-Smith of Springfield No One Leaves:
Since the lifting of the eviction moratorium on October 17, 2020:

The county breakdown is as follows:
Hampshire -79

We will continue to work with Homes for All MA Coalition as new legislation is prepared for this Legislative Session to increase housing stability during this pandemic.
