As we see skyrocketing eviction filings in our region and across the Commonwealth, Congress is making its final decisions over a COVID-19 relief package, likely TODAY, that will impact the housing stability of millions of households here and across the nation.

Republicans are now opposing the bipartisan agreement to include a one-month extension of the federal eviction moratorium, putting millions of renters at risk of losing their homes starting on January 1. The extension would also allow for President-elect Biden to issue an improved moratorium on his first day in office.The bipartisan compromise relief bill also provides $25 billion in emergency rental assistance urgently needed to keep tenants stably housed.
It matters a lot for our supportive Congresspeople to hear from us on this – they need to know we are counting on them to keep pushing for these protections.
