Please help us pass this budget by contacting the Governor TODAY and asking him to sign the budget quickly!
A sample script:
I am writing to ask that you quickly sign the FY2021 state budget without changes to include critically needed resources for affordable housing, homelessness prevention, and community development programs. As thousands of households risk losing their home due to COVID-19 and with thousands more already in emergency shelter, Massachusetts urgently needs these resources to have a safe, healthy, and affordable place to call home. Thank you!
The MA Coalition for the Homeless has produced this comprehensive summary of homelessness and housing budget provisions.
Governor Baker has 10 days since last Friday – we’re half way through – to sign the budget (or veto particular provisions) – if there are vetoes, the Legislature will have the opportunity to override them.
For now, the most important thing we can do is urge Governor Baker to sign the budget as is. Contact the Governor here. Thank you!
