I’m so pleased to announce that the Network hired Suzanne Smith to serve as our Data Analyst. She comes with fantastic experience, commitment and readiness to help us organize our data and demonstrate our impact. Welcome, Suzanne!
Suzanne offers 9 years of professional work in data collection, management and analysis, preceded by graduate training in econometrics and statistics. She holds a master’s degree in Economics from the University of Massachusetts and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Smith College.
She brings a combination of data analysis skills and a commitment to use those skills in the service of social and economic justice. She most recently worked for five years at the National Priorities Project (NPP) analyzing the impact of the federal budget on human needs programs and military spending. Her prior work at the Massachusetts Institute for Social and Economic Research included research into minority access to higher education and affirmative admissions, and the effects of segregation on educational opportunity in the Boston area. She continues to conduct data analysis work on the performance of disadvantaged schools in three states, and is energized by the work of the Western Mass Network to End Homelessness. She looks forward to the challenge of pulling the data analysis work together to help the Network reach its goals.
