3-COUNTY CoC PROVIDERS AWARDED $4 MILLON IN FEDERAL FUNDS OVER THE NEXT FIVE YEARS
Two federal SAMHSA /Center for Mental Health Services awards were made to 3-County Continuum of Care participant agencies serving Hampshire, Franklin and Hampden Counties.
Center for Human Development was awarded $400,000 annually for five years to provide Re-Housing and support services to 46 families annually and 230 families over five years in Hampshire and Hampden Counties. CHDs program will use three best practice models including Trauma, Recovery and Empowerment (TREM), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI) to engage families who are chronically homeless and who have been impacted by violence and trauma.
ServiceNet, Inc. was awarded $399,757 annually for five years to provide assertive outreach and engagement in Franklin and Hampshire Counties to 80-100 chronically homeless individuals, coupled with low threshold housing for at least 40 individuals. ServiceNet’s Housing Plus Program will use statewide strategies to target resources according to Tiers and will implement regional REACH best practices. The Housing Plus Program will use the Integrated Dual Disorders Treatment (IDDT) Based Practice model, which focuses on holistic services within a team-based structure.
The SAMHSA funding creates an opportunity for multiple levels of collaboration between CHD and ServiceNet to implement programs and services in a complementary fashion, addressing chronic homelessness among families and individuals. The effort will enhance the resources of the Regional Network and offer additional leveraging dollars to the Network for the next five years.
