Secure Jobs Connect Program Launched at Successful Press Conference 3/5/13
The Network, with Corporation for Public Management, CareerPoint and ServiceNet, yesterday launched Secure Jobs Connect, the Fireman Foundation’s $300,000 grant to support workforce development for homeless families in Western Mass. Over 60 people attended the event at Holyoke Community College, including the Office of Congressman Richard Neil, State Representative Cheryl Coakley-Rivera, Representative Peter Kocot, Representative Aaron Vega, Holyoke Mayor Alex Morse, Chicopee Mayor Michael Bissonnette Northampton Mayor David Narkewicz, DHCD Undersecretary Aaron Gornstein, Fireman Foundation Director of Special Initiatives Sue Beaton, and representatives of every regional housing authority and community college across the region, regional employment boards and career centers, child care agencies and multiple state agencies.
