This is great news, Gerry. Five or more years ago there was a free voice mail service that served low income folks and was invaluable to aiding people maintain their essential connection to the community and service providers. I will be sure to pass the word along to our outreach teams working with many low income individuals and families.

Re: [Projectcare] Free Voice Mailbox Inquiry

There is another resource that provides free voice mail boxes to individuals. Email Carol Morgan [mailto:carolm@google.com] and send her information about the people you help (your clients), and your organization.

Also, the area codes you’re interested in and how many cards you may need to start.

We are very pleased to offer this to our consumers who have periodic access to phones, but no place to receive messages.

A friend received a cell phone through this program, but he was not sent any instructions for use. When he called to ask for instructions he was told that he needs to check a website for instructions. He does not have a computer or computer access. Do you know where he can get printed info?
    Thanks!

I don’t know how to get printed instructions mailed, but you can print out directions for him from the website: here’s instructions on how to add additional minutes: https://www.safelinkwireless.com/EnrollmentPublic/add_airtime.aspx

Thanks for the added minutes info Gerry. I looked at the website and don’t see anything about instructions. I’d print them out for him if I saw them. There is a phone number for cell phone technical problems. I guess he’ll have to try that.

    Thanks.
